The Computer Science Department was established in the academic year 2020-2021 with an initial intake of 26 students. In the academic year 2023-2024, we introduced two new integrated programmes, namely M.Sc. in Information Technology and M.Sc. in Data Science and Big Data Analysis, each with sanctioned strength of 50 students. In addition, we have recently launched the B.Sc. Computer Science and B.Sc. Data Science programmes, also with an intake of 50 students for each programme. These new initiatives were introduced with the aim of fulfilling the educational aspirations of rural students and providing them with the opportunity to excel in the ever-growing field of technology
Our vision is to create knowledge of fundamental principles and innovative technologies within the core area of computer science and to produce globally competent graduates with strong moral values, committed to contributing towards building a vibrant and progressive nation
The Department of Computer Science is equipped with smart classrooms designed to create an engaging and interactive learning environment, enhancing the impact of education. These classrooms feature modern technologies that aid in effective teaching and facilitate better learning experiences. Additionally, the department is having four advanced Computer Laboratories, each outfitted with state-of-the-art systems. These labs provide students with essential hands-on learning opportunities, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. The laboratories play a crucial role in improving students' technical skills and preparing them for real-world challenges. The department also boasts a well-equipped library, offering a wide range of resources, including books, journals, and digital content. This wealth of information supports academic success and fosters students' growth and development in the field of computer science. Beyond academics, the Sports Department actively encourages student participation in various intercollegiate competitions, providing opportunities for students to earn certificates and build well-rounded skills outside of the classroom. The university helps to get various central and state government scholarship scheme such as Tamil Pudhalvan Scholarship, Pudhumai pen scholarship which recognizes and supports deserving students in their academic journey.
